Cetrimide is an effective anti-bacterial agent, thereby aiding in the prevention of infection. Cetrigen also contains insect repellants to prevent insects and maggots being attracted to the area and irritating the horse and wound further.
There is an egg-withhold period. The time limit on this product has NOT been specified.
(Most withhold periods for poultry range between 2-6 weeks)
The instructions on the product say:
"DO NOT USE on laying birds where eggs or egg products are to be used for human consumption."
"DO NOT USE less than 28 days before human consumption."
"DO NOT USE on female cattle or sheep which are producing, or may in the future produce milk for human consumption."
There is no specified time of safe consumption indicated on this product, other than for meat.
